God Opposes the Proud
Teaching:
God’s sovereignty reveals who we truly are.
God’s sovereignty demands worship.
God’s sovereignty humbles the proud.
Application:
Know your purpose and be faithful to God.
Worship God instead of questioning God.
Be humble before God and let His grace lift you up.
Discussion:
Why should we not question the sovereignty of God even in the most difficult situations?
Prayer:
Sovereign Lord, it is my desire to worship and honor You even in my most difficult situations. If there comes a time when I am tempted to abandon my faith, I pray that You will extend Your grace to me so that I may continue to follow You faithfully. My deepest desire is to remain steadfast in my commitment to You, regardless of the circumstances. Teach me not to question Your existence, authority, wisdom, and sovereignty. You are God, and I am not. I do not expect explanations from You; rather, enable me to persevere in the faith. In Jesus’ name, amen!
