Betrayal, Revenge, and Forgiveness – Psalm Chapter 55

Betrayal, Revenge, and Forgiveness

Scripture: Psalm 55:22

Teaching:
Betrayal is most painful when it is committed by loved ones and close friends.
God comforts and sustains those who put their trust in Him.
God does not permit the righteous to be shaken.

Application:
Do not be “Judas” and a hypocrite.
Do not take revenge against those who hurt you.
Do not be shaken by putting your trust in God.

Discussion:
Why should we not take revenge when we are hurt?

Prayer:
Father, it is indeed better to be betrayed than to betray, better to be hurt than to hurt. Help us to forgive sincerely from the heart. Please enable us not to seek revenge when people betray, hurt, or wish evil upon us. Thank You, Lord, for teaching us to trust in You, for vengeance belongs to You. Please establish our feet in Christ Jesus, in whom we will not be shaken. I pray this in Jesus’ name…
