Zedekiah’s Prideful Decision
Teaching:
God loves giving warnings.
Pride goes before destruction.
God disciplines those He loves.
Application:
Change course upon hearing God’s warning.
Do not abuse God’s patience.
Be humble when undergoing God’s discipline.
Discussion:
How do we abuse God’s patience? How should we deal with God’s discipline?
Prayer:
Lord, I praise You because You do not enjoy punishing me; You love me. Thank You for giving me warnings before exacting Your discipline. Forgive me for sometimes abusing Your patience. I pray that You will soften my heart and let me respond appropriately to Your rebuke. Cleanse me and purify me. Humble me and do not let pride take over, for pride goes before destruction. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen!
