Not Ashamed
Teaching:
Why should we not be ashamed of the gospel?
Jesus was not ashamed of us when He was shamed on the cross.
It is insulting to Jesus if we succumb to the fear of insult.
The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.
Application:
How can we be courageous to proclaim the gospel?
Know what to say: Have a solid grasp of the gospel message.
Say what you know: It is our responsibility to say what we know.
Trust the Spirit: It is the responsibility of the Spirit to convert the hearts of the people.
Discussion:
Why should we focus on sharing the gospel and leave the result to the Spirit?
Prayer:
Lord, sometimes I am terrified by just the thought of spreading Your gospel. I am sorry, Lord! I do not want to be ashamed of You or Your gospel message. Please change my heart. Let me be courageous. Deepen my knowledge of the gospel. Teach me what to say whenever I proclaim the gospel. I trust the Spirit to work in the hearts of the people I want to win for Jesus. Lord, let me be like the Apostle Paul, who was not ashamed of the gospel. Let me stand for Jesus just as Jesus stood for me. Let me bear my cross just as Jesus bore the cross for me. I pray that many people will come to know You through my life. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen!
